Wow, you do have a lack of compassion. You know what? I’m type 2, I take insulin, I’m approved to get an insulin pump, so yeah I AM like you. And so is everyone else with this stupid disease.
My blood sugar goes high, I feel like shit. My blood sugar goes low, I feel like shit. I’m at risk for the same complications. The research is showing more overlap at the molecular level than was previously thought.
But you know what sucks? I have to deal with all the BULLSHIT and misinformation that comes with being a Type 2 that you can just brush off and say “oh, you’re talking about those OTHER people” when someone asks you about your weight or diet.
We don’t have that luxury.
You want to know what takes to be an outsider in the diabetes online community?
Being type 2.
That is all.
Ugh, it’s like the better my sugars are bc I’m taking my insulin and everything properly the harder it is to lose weight.
it was harder to cope with it without people telling me to talk about it, to educate everyone. when i decided to share my diabetes with the world i was expecting support, not more pressure.
I feel this way too sometimes.
Sometimes I wish people didn’t know.
- people with diabetes
that’s it. that’s the list.
